Happy New Year!

Happy 2010 New Year! As we reflect back on 2009, we have many things we are so thankful for.  This past year has been the start of a lot of wonderful changes. First, of course is having Kaiya and watching her grow, being new parents, being able to understand and speak more Chinese, pioneering a new surf ministry in Taiwan and figuring out our roles in that, and just feeling like Taiwan is our home more and more.  The biggest thing that we are grateful for this past year is seeing how God has been with us at every moment.  He's always provided our needs, always given us faith and encouragement, and always, always poured out His love and grace in our lives.
Now, as we move into 2010, we are excited to see more of God's plan for Taiwan unfold...
As a family, we went to Starbucks and wrote down our goals for 2010. Chris claims he has like 50 new years resolutions, as for Eliah, she felt like God said to keep it simple.  A prayer that we are both praying for this 2010 is that WE won't get in the way of God's plans.  Meaning, our doubts, fears, pride, selfishness, whatever it may be, won't get in God's way.  That His love will overcome in the Taiwanese hearts and that His love will overcome in whatever situation that we are in.  May this be the prayer for you also, so we can see more of God's love in this world.
