Our Chinese teacher invited the students over to their house to experience a traditional New Years Eve dinner along with a game Majiang (Chinese Game).
It was so interesting to hear many traditional stories about Chinese New Year, the Lunar Calendar, and all sorts of meanings behind every food that was served at the dinner table! Chinese and Taiwanese culture really has great depth and beauty to it.
Just like Christmas, red is the color you will see during this holiday! Along with red envelopes which are gifts given to the young and/or singles. We were so happy to be a part of this wonderful season!
