We have been living here in Danshui for almost 3 years and there is still so much about this place that we are learning! Last Sunday we were invited for some afternoon tea and dinner with a local Taiwanese couple that we met in our church. The husband, Spencer, is working on getting his PhD and was looking for some help editing his papers in English. So Eliah, having experience with some editing, volunteered her time and began this new relationship with this wonderful couple. They showed us around the heart of Danshui, a place we have often walked, but never really seen the fullness of the place. They even showed us a lot of other side roads, including the oldest road in Danshui. During our walk, Spencer seemed to have known almost everyone on the streets, so we got to meet some really interesting local people as well! It was really fun and great to see a new aspect of these streets we've walked a hundred times!
