This year is an especially exciting year for us because not only will we be having a 2nd baby, but we are also finally finishing up our training time in Danshui, Taiwan and moving to.....Jinshan!
At the end of our SBS in 2007, God gave us this verse from Daniel 1:3-5:
"Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring into the king’s service some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility, young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king’s table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king’s service"
We felt our 3 years training was of the Bible (literature of God), and of course the language of the Taiwanese, which is mainly Mandarin. Now that these 3 years are coming to an end, we are ready to enter the King's service. Going out to start church planting among the surfers of Taiwan. How exciting Lord!!!
At the end of March, we plan to move to Jinshan, the most popular surf spot in the north. Eventually we want to make our way down to Yilan which is in the Northeast part of Taiwan, and is the largest surf community. But for now we start with this place that we have made a lot of friendships and is a place that is very dear to our hearts.
With this change we are also looking for a bigger, more functioning car, so please pray for us. There are many things going on, with new baby coming also, so please keep us in prayer, that this won't be a stressful time, but a time we can enjoy with God and with each other every step of the way!
