The past 3 months...

...have been FULL of emotions, worries, but most importantly, God's grace.
It's so amazing how even before all of this, God had been speaking to us about Koa's life being one full of God's grace.  And it truly has been.  Here's a recap of all that's been happening:
On the night of June 29th, Eliah's water broke and she was only 25 weeks pregnant.  The doctor said that the baby can still stay in Eliah's stomach until full-term (at about 37 weeks), as long as the baby didn't get any infection and Eliah be bedridden for a few months. So within the next few days, we moved the family to a friends house, closer to the hospital and had a good schedule made for babysitters and meals, and really just planning for the long haul.  But a few days later, Eliah began to bleed.  The doctor said it was pieces of placenta and that as long as more didnt come out, it should still be ok.  So there was nothing more we could do other than just wait to see what would happen.
On July 4th, everything was looking ok, and the doctor said that Eliah would be moved back into the ward to wait.  But the next day, on July 5th, the umbilical chord had come out and Eliah was rushed to the operating room for a emergency c-section.  Later, the doctor told us that this is one of the worst case scenarios because the baby could quickly suffocate.  Thankfully, Koa was born and rushed to the NICU.  It was a crazy time and I'm getting emotional just thinking about all of this again.
During Koa's time in the hospital, he went through a bacterial infection, UTI, a couple of blood transfusion for being anemic, and a hernia operation.  He was in the NICU for 2 months and then in the newborn center for 2 weeks.
We stayed at our friends house for about a month, while Eliah healed and we visited Koa twice a day.  Afterwards we moved back to our house, an hour away from  the hospital, making our visits to Koa just once a day.  Through those few months, we tried our best to get a good routine going, with the hospital visits taking the whole morning, and our kids just flooded with so many changes, it was not easy.  We would also get a few calls in the middle of the night with the doctor telling us Koa's heart rate and breathing has slowed down.
With all that was going on, its God's grace that carried us through it all.  Many of you were praying for us, and for Koa, and for this we are eternally grateful.  Though it was a hard time, and yes there were moments of great worry, but for the most part, in an unexplainable way, we felt God's peace.  God is so good to us.
September 15th, Koa was able to come home.  He still had a tube down to his stomach and a monitor to monitor his oxygen level in his blood (for his apnea), as well as to monitor his heart rate. All in all, he is doing extremely well and we praise God for everything!   We are so so thankful for God's grace, for generous hearts, and for the many prayers made for Koa!
