These past few months have been so up and down, but what has come out of it has been amazing. Meeting with our leaders, we have been able to bring more clarity on what exactly we are doing out here, and what we want to see. We've been here for almost a year and with much change from what we originally thought, we had a hard time being focused.
After a meeting with a leader, our team took the next morning to just pray and seek God. We needed more clarity on what it was we are doing out here. I think this has to happen quite a lot during pioneering since, its all new....no ones ever done this before. So even though we struggled through things and were discouraged, God spoke to us. God is so faithful! He brought us clarity on how yes, we are reaching out to surfers, but we are also serving the church and the community here in this town.
Originally we had thought to only stay in Jinshan for 2 yrs and move to Yilan, the largest surfing community in Taiwan, but after praying and seeking God, we got a clear word to stay here...until however long. God says his work is not finished here and confirmed it with a phone call that same hour, from a surfer friend who is so so hungry to know God more.
With this new commitment to stay in Jinshan, we have decided to look for an apartment in town. Please pray we find a good home and that our friend will truly grow in faith.
